Deepa Kumar is a Psychotherapist with Diploma in Transactional Analysis. She is currently training to heal trauma and other stress disorders through a body-oriented modality from Somatic Experiencing International. She is a member of South Asian Association of Transactional Analysts, SAATA, and International Association of Transactional Analysts, ITAA.
Deepa’s years of personal work in psychotherapy provides expertise in helping clients deal with everyday life stressors like anxiety, depression, shame, grief and existential issues.
She specialises in Individual and Teenage Counselling. She also uses an integrative approach to healing.
She believes in providing holistic health to clients. For that, she integrates modalities of different schools of Transactional Analysis, psychodrama, Somatic Experiencing, image theatre and art. Trusting the role nature plays in healing, she includes activities that reconnect to nature.
Deepa’s previous professional endeavours were in the field of Biotechnology, with a Master’s degree in Microbiology. She feels moments of flow in singing, writing, painting, fiber arts like crochet, pottery, and spending time grounding in nature. She cares for the animals in her neighbourhood, volunteering to rescue and rehabilitate them when in need.
